Reduced Status Requirements

Hyatt has cut the required number of nights for each of their status levels in half. For example, you only need 30 nights, rather than 60, to reach their extremely valuable Globalist status. And since the Hyatt credit card comes with at least 5 free nights, cardholders only need 25 or fewer nights, rather than 55.

However, keep in mind that some of the benefits associated with Hyatt elite status, such as Suite Upgrade Certificates, Free Night Certificates, and Club Upgrade Certificates, are benefits of hitting specific "Elite Night Milestones" and not from the status itself, and these requirements require the same number of nights in 2021 as any other year. That said, there are plenty of valuable benefits from Globalist status itself, like free breakfast, potential suite upgrades at check-in, and free parking on award stays.

Earlier in the year, Hyatt was offering double elite night credits for stays, meaning that you could earn Globalist status with only 15 nights (and less for Hyatt credit cardholders). Unfortunately, that opportunity has passed. But if you have an opportunity to stay a bunch of nights or spend a bunch of money on Hyatt's credit cards, 2021 is a far easier year to get Globalists benefits.

In 2021, credit card holders can earn Explorist status with only 10 additional nights. If you spend $15,000 with the card, you'll receive a second free night certificate 15,000 Hyatt points from the spending, and 6 elite status nights. You'd only need 4 additional nights, either through stays or additional credit card spending, to become "Explorist for Life". Or at least for as long as the M life matching trick works.
