If you aren’t already a member of Marriott’s loyalty program, you might be in luck! New members are often eligible for a great promotion.

If you make two stays at Marriott within the first four months that you are a member, you’ll get a free night certificate that you can use for a night at any hotel in the Marriott program that costs up to 20,000 points per night. Marriott Free Night Certificates.
- The certificate can easily be redeemed for a hotel room worth over $100 per night and sometimes for more. And your first two stays can be at even their cheapest hotels. This is a very nice promotion, but it is only available to new members.
- Ideally, you would wait till you knew that you could take two stays in the next few months. If you sign up and make one stay and time is running out, you could consider booking a night in the cheapest nearby Marriott hotel. If you don’t have to pay that much for the room, it is a great way to essentially “purchase” a Category 1 – 4 certificate for later.
- It can sometimes be hard to access the promotion webpage online. The trick is to visit the page in private / incognito mode in your browser. Otherwise existing cookies may wind up blocking access to the promotion.
- If you are already a Marriott member, perhaps some other family member is not, and you can still access the promotion.
